Easter

Somehow I missed this post of my easter cutie collecting eggs and visiting with the Easter bunny.

We got home from our spring break DC trip just the friday before Easter so I didn't have much planned. However, on Saturday we stumbled across an Easter bunny where you could take your own photos for FREE! !  Because easter bunnies at malls tend to look a little shady I was worried how aubriana would do but she patiently awaited his arrival with all the other kids in line. She smiled when he came out but still was unsure. She was about tenth in line and we watched the other kids, mostly all older then her, hop up in the bunny's lap, smile and move on to get an Easter egg surprise  (which were using as a bribe ). We were complementing each child at how brave they were and how happy they were as they went up to the bunny for a picture. To my surprise aubriana did not hesitate one bit. She did give a hug, but she chose to sit on the bench next to the bunny rather than on his lap. And as you can see, had a big smile on her face!!  Then it was right to the egg treat :)  This strip mall also had a small petting zoo where we stopped after to feed goats. Very fun!

Sunday we got up early to see if the easter bunny had come, and he did! His tracks looked a lot like the leprechaun on st aptricks day.  The bunny walked around the kitchen, left an easter basket, put ears on puppy, colored our milk pink and purple AND left some bunny poo (chocolate covered raisins ) too! She loved that the milk had changed and that he walked right through the kitchen!

The afternoon we spent at grandma and grandpa greenfields visiting with them and Amy and Pete. We all got together without matt as he was feeling out of sorts since being home from our plane flight friday night.  Aubriana loved the egg hunt and all the Easter egg bunny toys at gmas.

Sunny Day!

The sun and warmth have arrived to MN and hopefully is here to stay. We took advantage of it yesterday by doing some yard work, which doubles as fun for a toddler with a bucket. There were SO MANY pinecones in our yard from last fall we raked them up and bagged them, with Aubriana's help. She was in charge of getting them out from under the tree using her new garden gloves and her princess bucket :) she was having such fun being a good helper.

Happy St. Patricks Day

When my sister was little we used to 'decorate' the house on St. Patricks Day like the leprechaun came and did some silly things.  HE would mess with some toys, eat some candy and turn our milk green.  We would know he came because he would leave little footprints (baby powder) on the carpet showing where he went.  Today I got to start this memory with Aubriana and it was fun.  I wish this video was her reaction right away, but she had already told the story a few times as we had to call a few people right when we got home and saw what the leprechaun had did.

He walked all around the kitchen leaving 'white tracks'.  He found Aubriana's puppy and put a small leprechaun hat on him and he got into the fridge and turned some milk green.  It was great fun watching her react and trace his steps and just laugh and laugh at what he did.   Can't wait to see what the easter bunny cooks up :)

Daddy daughter day

Aubriana has been a little under the weather lately so matt kept her home Thursday for a visit to the doctor and a little a daddy daughter time.  They went to the mall of america and went on some rides. Every picture matt showed me from their outing was the cutest selfie ever- it was hard choosing which was the best.  Here you can see them riding the merry-go-round,  the bus, roller coaster and Choo Choo train. The train is her favorite behind her carseat :)

In the afternoon she visited the doctor, got a flu shot and a check up. It was fun to hear her tell me about the events of the day in her tiny little voice :) she really loves that 'mall 'merica'

Long weekend

Aubriana and I had a busy long weekend as dad was out of town in Seattle.  Here are some things we did:
1. Had snuggle time - it was cold!!! Three of the days the high did not even reach above zero!
2. Visited Amy and Pete.  We had a great dinner and read some books (see pictures below).
3. Visited Grandma and Grandpa Greenfield.  Grandma found all of my mom's old beanie baby puppies and played with all 19 of them! Aubriana love puppies so she was carefully studying each one and learning its names before she threw them around the room and helped them go down the slide.
4. Visited Great Grandma and Grandpa Guggemos.  A nice visit with Grandma at the nursing home where Aubriana got a lot of compliments on her new had.  Then we had lunch after at Grandpa Arts where we were teaching Aubriana how to wink (see video below).

A nice little break for mom filled with lots of fun girl time, but we are SO GLAD to see daddy home!

Go VIKAWKS

Welp, as we all know the Vikings ALMOST beat the seahawks in the first round of NFL playoffs, and we were there. What an experience to be at the third coldest game in NFL history. It was -4 at game time and for some reason, we wanted to be there. It's been years since I have been to a vikings game and wasn't super pumped about being outside but it was a BLAST. We had a little extra rivalry with Phill in town from Seattle for the game, which made it even more fun. We arrived at 10 am and wandered the tailgate parking lot watching people talk up the Vikings while trash talking Phill, everyone was so friendly and fun you forgot about the cold. Inside, we were on the 40 yard line, row 4 and what a view. Fun to be close and take in the action. I think we came pretty prepared as the only discomfort I had was my toes got cold.  The four layers of pants and 10 layers on top I had on must have done the trick - lol.
After the game we took our lightrail to the mall of america and walked around to warm up. We had left a car there earlier in the day knowing parking there would be difficult.  At the mall we were again approached by a lot of people as you could tell we had just been to the game. Even though the outcome was not the one we wanted I am still proud to be a vikings fan - and we like the seahawks at our house too so we can still cheer them on!!

Week one

It was a long and difficult week back from winter break. A lot going on at school and just getting back into the grove, plus, I missed Aubriana.  Most mornings I dont get to see her up because matt takes her which makes picking her up even better. Our nights this week were not very productive - lots of legos, snuggles and stories - so I can't complain.

Aubriana was student of the week this week at daycare so I got to look back through some pictures and print some for her display. She is turning into quite the little lady :) right now I LOVE how she adds inflection to her voice. Matt will come home and ask her 'how was your day?' And she will reply with ' how was YOU day dad?' Then she will ask me and him at least three more times each. Such a cutie.
